Who We Are
The Overbrook Historical Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by Joyce Dillon, who stated at the time that "if we don't start to preserve our history, we are going to lose it." Joyce recruited a group of five like-minded people to form the organization and its first board. The group's focus was two-fold: to raise funds for a museum and collect the images, papers, memorabilia and memories that will tell the story of Overbrook's history.
Today the board has nearly doubled in size, and the focus remains.
With a plot of land on a corner of Main Street (just north of the Post Office) donated by the City of Overbrook, we have a place for the museum, and the fundraising continues.
Our organization is grateful of the incredible support we have received from the community, and we look forward to continuing the effort to preserve and share the great story of Overbrook.
The Mission
Our main mission is to preserve our history and educate the community about the work we do at Overbrook Historical Society. We are committed to telling the story of Overbrook through a history that stretches back to the town's founding in 1886.
