Fair thee well, Overbrook!

For so many years, the Overbrook Osage County Fair has been one of the highlights of the entire calendar year for most of us who live here. Fair time is certainly a special time for us at The Overbrook Historical Society. The fair is one of the central unifying events that dates back to our town's earliest days. We have fair books in our collection that date back as far as 1912. The fair also gives us as an organization the opportunity to come together to design a parade float that will promote the work of our group and celebrate some local history at the same time. This year our float celebrates the larger story of a memorable figure from the country's history - Davey Crockett. The parade theme was "One Hit Wonders."
